MULTIFAITH WORSHIP VISITS |

Community Engagement Visit to Multi-Faith Places of Worship On 3 September 2026, PCSO Naz and Megan from the Community Safety Department at the London Borough of Redbridge carried out a series of visits to multi-faith places of worship across the borough. We received a warm and welcoming reception from faith leaders and members of the various communities. During our visits, we were given tours of the places of worship and had the opportunity to engage in positive discussions about community safety, partnership working, and local concerns. A key purpose of these visits was to introduce Megan to the faith communities and explore the support, guidance, and safety training that can be offered to help strengthen community resilience and wellbeing. The discussions were extremely productive, and faith leaders expressed their appreciation for the ongoing engagement and support from the police. During the course of the day, I also assisted a 77-year-old woman who required medical attention. Ensuring the safety and welfare of our residents remains a priority, and appropriate assistance was provided. The visits highlighted the importance of maintaining strong relationships with all faith communities. Building trust, understanding, and open communication allows us to work together more effectively to address concerns, promote safety, and create a stronger sense of community cohesion. It was encouraging to see how much the faith leaders valued our presence and engagement. I look forward to continuing these visits and strengthening our partnerships with all faith groups. By working together, we can help create safer communities, increase trust and confidence in policing, and ensure that everyone feels supported and respected. PCSO Naz
